| ART on 5th Friday - Sunday, November 13 - 15 Vintage Poster Weekend ART on 5th welcomes back Retro Gallery and their collection of original, vintage posters. Many of the posters are from France, Italy, England, Poland, Switzerland, and other European countries and each is an antique, printed between 1890 and 1940 -- there are no reproductions. The printing process used is stone lithography, employing hand-carved limestone to create posters for advertising anything from liquor to opera, from household goods to bikes and cars. Each fragile poster has been linen lined to museum paper preservation standards and are preserved and ready to be framed and hung. |
